Founded by Wilf Whitty, Ratiotype is an independent graphic design studio working with the doers of this world to inspire, challenge and change things for good.
I work with organisations of all sizes, from one-person start-ups to international NGOs. My design is characterised by a simplicity of form which creates clear, effective communication in print and digital media.
I build long-term working relationships with people who are driven to make something good, be that campaigning for the rights of street children, launching an ambitious publishing company aimed at the world’s doers, creating code clubs for girls in Africa or manufacturing innovative products.
My practice includes documentary photography, which is used to help clients tell their stories. When time allows I like to step away from the screen and explore the medium of print.
Ratiotype is based at Spike Island, a centre for the development of contemporary art and design located in a former tea warehouse in Bristol’s harbourside.
